Braiding Sweet Grass. Response by Eloy Neira

Are we many nations in one territory? Have we been able to acknowledge on who's land we are stepping on? Are we aware that different philosophies and different religious views are passing under the radar but in front of our noses. Have we been able to thank the world for who we are and the process that created us?
These and many other questions challenged me after reading this short chapter by Robin Wall. We have forgotten that without the Tataviam and the Tongva we wouldn't have been able to have CalArts.
We have also forgot That the American Flag and the Idea of Nation State has had different history and meanings to Us, Americans. Depending on our skin color, where we are from and what are our backgrounds we receive different energy from this world. This reading also remind me that  we are one. Many not very modern but perhaps more advance cultures such as the Andean, the Sufi, and the Native Americans realize that we are one even in our difference we are one and that our minds together are One. This realization, is the answer to the dichotomy of "I and the Other" in its infinite versions. If we begin to ask our question and perform our actions in regards of a sensus comunis. We Could be able to afford a work that belongs to everybody.
