Maquilapolis-Ani Kazandjian

  • I wonder if the television factories in Indonesia are closed down now since no company sells those televisions any more
  • Have those factories turned into something else and do those workers still work there for the same wage?
  • Its interesting to me when the girl said they pressured and harassed them-to think about what the US was demanding of the people in charge of the Maquilapolis in order for them to feel the stress that they where taking out on the workers
  • Im almost wishing that they had done something a little different then a regular documentary
  • I wonder how the people of Tijuana rested to this
  • Where the people of Tijuana able to see this
  • What was the outcome of this documentary- did it spark a change
  • I wonder why they let them film in factories
  • What is it like now?
  • For the time period and the location of the filming I am surprised by the choice of repetition and symbolism in this film
  • The duopoly that is occurring between Sanyo and Samsung-
  • Would the pay have been different or would the company had given severance if majority of their workers where men?
  • Its very refreshing to see these women trying to own their rights and bring light to wrong that has been done to them
