Cuba Confidential Analysis by Tyler Riggin

This is a great article.  I believe I've read this before (perhaps prior to our previous class trip to Cuba?) but it was good to brush up on this.  The article depicts the events leading up to, and following the initial conversation between Obama and Castro.  Before which, neither countries leaders had any substantive conversation between them in over half a century.  This was sort of an alignment of "political stars", and particularly due to the determination of Obama.  Part of this rekindling of relations was a prisoner trade, and other deals made between Cuba and the USA.  The article goes into detail about the various prisoners including the 'Cuban 5' released from US prisons, and Alan Gross, and Rolando Sarraff Trujilo.  This is a very interesting look into the personal lives of several of these prisoners, and all the details and logistical turmoil they had to deal with, and the role they played in this historic event.

One of the main questions I have is about the telecommunication companies coming from the USA to Cuba.  The article makes a point that part of this deal was that US telecom companies be authorized to provide services in Cuba.  How come this is something that still hasn't taken affect?
