Amelia Kennedy Project Ideas

For my project I am interested in creating a project that surrounds stories of sexually abused women in all areas of the world. My main criteria is to allow for voice to be heard. I want to find a way to share the stories of individual women from all walks of life and to allow their voices to be heard in regards to their trauma.

For the physical project itself I have a few of ideas for how to execute it:

-A projection onto a body of words and statements from women who have experienced sexual abuse. This would enhance the idea of the female form and the disrespect society has for it.

-A headset that plays stories of women's experiences read aloud by actors.

-A book of poetry and illustrations (similar to that of Rupi Kaur's work) devised by artists to tell the stories of these women.

The important values for this project is to be able to safely and considerately give voice to women who have had theirs taken away. Another huge factor is to explore the experiences of women who are in a different community to my own.
