Project Proposal Evoltuion

My project proposal seems to evolve each and every day with all of the continuous information that I load into it. I'm grateful for that but it also unfortunately means that a solid clear idea of what will come of it continues to be slightly elusive. As of right now I'm viewing my project as something that is extremely open and entirely inclusive. I have a huge focus on realities, and how realities can coexist and cocreate together and having this all happen through story. I'm interested in the question how can we fight conflicts between realities by each reality trying to reason with the other and through that creating something entirely new together. There's a lot of theoretics and philosophies that I'm constantly in contact with so I will try to be as concise as I can. My project proposal still lies in the idea of community engagement through theater, using many tactics that I've gotten from Theater of the Oppressed methods. I want to take a group of theater makers, all with vast different realities, and take them to small mostly white communities and engage the community with theater that is focused on this idea of different realities through stories. Now originally I had a more vested interest in taking this "blueprint", I guess we can all it that, to only these white communities but I've since begun exploring taking it much broader than that; but I would still like to begin with these communities. Largely the context is still to highlight privileges and attempt to dismantle the systems of oppression that surround all of us, but again I'm looking at it in a different way much more inclusive and specific to the individual person than any kind of generalized binary we could put on it. Much of my research currently has been discussion about how white people can talk about and make art about race in this current time and place. As I've previously mentioned I've also looked at a lot of tactics used by Theater of the Oppressed, and other kinds of community led theater engagement practices. I have looked at other talks and am continuously looking at different speeches and documentaries. Much of the engagement is going to be focused on discussion with the community and blurring the line between them, the viewers, and the art makers. Much of the work will hopefully be work the members of the community make and work inside of themselves in cooperation with the artists. The hope here being the at highlighting everyone's different realities will foster understanding and reasoning and allow people of varied and seemingly opposed backgrounds to coexist and work together to create something new together.
