I think the most eye-opening thing about this video is that the individual sense or characteristic of the city is the fact it is a breeding ground for materialism and big corporations to take advantage of people. It was so sad and impactful to me to see that this place has lost is a sense of place. It just felt like it was a giant warehouse that people lived inside of, and the owner of said warehouse changes ever so often. It was sad to see how the place has so much industry but none of it was up to code or have a good impact on the environment, it made me more upset to know that the big cats know what they are doing and it felt so wrong to watch these women get walked over and knowing there is nothing I can do about it, I know there are people in there working hard for their loved ones across the border and these conditions won't help them. Or the fact that these companies are so close to Us where these conditions would get them in trouble, but they have the advantage to watch it through a window just a hair over the border.
I loved that because of the way it was shot it felt like a home movie of sorts, it felt more one on one this way which I think was a very smart thing to do. When the woman was talking about there injuries while working there or even just watching their lawyer talk to them, it felt more like I was one of them rather than a camera through lenses. I almost wish I could have watched what their day to day was like.
