Beautiful Trouble - Diana Teixeira

After reading through all the principles, I kept going back to the first one, the one about anger. The first principle talks about anger combined with the moral high ground. I often see the moral high ground combined with peace and for lack of better words “turning the other cheek.” In order to get change is not enough to embrace peace, we must provoke this change. As an artist nothing would make me feel more realized that inciting anger in people. An anger toward the injustices in this country and an anger that incites people to take action. In addition, believe that taking an issue home and make it personal is a priority. If you are not invested enough in an issue to involve your friends and family then the issue is not important enough or others will see you as not fully invested.
Regarding tactics for activism, I have participated in vigils, occupation, and flash mobs with great success. All of the tactics I have previously used have been to call attention to and issue. Now I’m interested in public filibustering and Infiltration, and how someone like me with very little knowledge of the way the government operates may employ this previously mentioned tactics.
From the theories I read about, I found a crucial importance in implementing the “Pedagogy of the Oppressed” and “Action Logic” to any project of mine. I often find huge wisdom in people who don’t know what the know. It is important to learn from everyone and to empower those who never had a voice. In addition, find “simplicity” to be “the keys to the kingdom.” Objectives must be clear and understandable in order to unite people behind a cause.
