Radical Hope Is Our Best Weapon
Questions
How can we teach people to not slip back into the comfort of their historical privilege?
How can one find hope, through themselves and others, in a world where the options are so dyer?
How can one find universal truths, though science fiction and fiction in general? How can one create those truths?
Observations
It’s interesting how Díaz thinks we should look back on the things that we have accomplished, and the similarities in issues we have achieved, but how now the younger people haven't experienced anything like this thus far. The balance between the new and the old in an insinuation that has, for the most (majority) part, have been exercising the antagonistic ideology of white supremacy.
Knowledge is why we keep living and love is the thing that stops us from killing each other. Climate change and the lying fools who disbelieve that it exists and are arguing that the world doesn't need to change, are he people who will end up killing us.
People need to constantly be opening their scope. Learning and understanding the communities around you, will grow positive love and respect for one another. In turn, creating a safer environment for change.
Reflection
My vision of radical hope is understanding the humanity in one another.
